Technical Regulation

Doors and windows are assessed under the applicable Saudi/GCC Technical Regulation for building materials, built around the assembled unit's performance rather than the frame material alone. The standards most commonly referenced internationally are ISO 6612 for wind-resistance testing, EN 12207 for air permeability, EN 12208 for watertightness, EN 12210 for resistance to wind load and EN 1191 for repeated opening/closing of hardware. A doors/windows certificate that only supplies material test data for the aluminium, UPVC or timber profile, without whole-unit air/water/wind performance evidence, does not satisfy the requirement — those three system-level results are checked first, alongside safety-glazing confirmation where glass is fitted. We confirm both exist and match your exact product before submission.

SCoC Process

A Shipment Certificate of Conformity is issued per consignment and is what customs checks at the border. In outline:

  1. Shipment details submitted

    The invoice, packing list and the linked PCoC are submitted for the specific consignment.

  2. Verification

    The shipment is verified against the valid PCoC, the declared system and dimensions are confirmed, and the SCoC fee is settled on the platform.

  3. SCoC issued

    The SCoC is issued for that shipment, allowing it to clear Saudi customs. Each new shipment needs its own SCoC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a door or window tested as a complete unit rather than just the frame material?

The performance that actually matters — keeping out wind-driven rain, resisting wind load and operating reliably over thousands of cycles — depends on how the frame, seals, hardware and glazing work together, not on the frame material's properties alone. A material-only certificate for the aluminium, UPVC or timber profile does not prove the assembled unit performs, so it is not accepted on its own.

Do I need safety-glass certification if my doors/windows have glazing?
